Visiting Scholar Research Programme

Recruitment for the 2025-2026 Academic Year

The Cambridge Scholars Innovative Academy (CSIA) is an international academic platform rooted in the city of Cambridge, UK, dedicated to advancing frontier research, fostering cross-cultural intellectual exchange, and connecting scholarly inquiry with contemporary global challenges.

CSIA is pleased to announce the 2025–2026 Visiting Scholars Research Programme, inviting applications from outstanding scholars affiliated with higher education institutions and research organisations worldwide.

For this cycle, three to four Visiting Scholars will be selected for research residencies of three to six months, with specific dates to be agreed upon individually.

Programme Aims

The Visiting Scholars Research Programme seeks to support researchers who demonstrate strong independent research capacity, a commitment to socially relevant inquiry, and a genuine interest in cross-cultural and interdisciplinary dialogue.

Visiting Scholars will conduct forward-looking and innovative research within CSIA’s supportive academic environment, while becoming active members of a diverse international scholarly community. The programme encourages meaningful intellectual exchange across disciplines and cultural contexts, contributing to both academic advancement and broader societal understanding.

  • Educational theory and pedagogical innovation
  • Sustainable development

Proposed research topics should align with these areas and reflect originality, analytical depth, and an exploratory research spirit.

Programme Structure and Support
Duration

Three to six months (flexible start and end dates subject to agreement).

  • Dedicated workspace and essential research facilities
  • Integration into CSIA’s international academic network
  • Priority access to CSIA-organised lectures, seminars, collaborative research initiatives, and cultural exchange activities
Academic Resources and Environment
Research and Outputs

Applicants are required to submit a clear research focus and plan. Visiting Scholars are encouraged to produce high-quality research outputs during their residency, including but not limited to: academic journal articles, book chapters, research reports, or policy briefs. Outstanding outputs, subject to academic review, may be considered for inclusion in CSIA’s future publications or receive further institutional support.

Fees

Visiting Scholars are required to contribute to the operational costs of the research platform through a bench fee of £500 per month. This fee covers:

  • Use of a dedicated workspace
  • Access to institutional research resources
  • Basic administrative support
  • Participation in designated academic and cultural activities
