About The Event

Step into the world of England’s greatest playwright and poet! In our final session of the term, The Life and Works of William Shakespeare (1564–1616), we delve into the genius of the Bard whose works have shaped literature and theatre across the globe. From the political intrigue of Macbeth to the romantic tragedy of Romeo and Juliet and the comedic brilliance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Shakespeare’s creations capture the depth of human experience.

Guided by Alex, a distinguished scholar and Fellow of multiple prestigious institutions including Christ’s College Cambridge, the McDonald Institute of Archaeological Research, and the Institute for Oriental and Classical Studies at HSE University Moscow, this session will explore vital questions: How did the social and political context of Elizabethan England influence Shakespeare’s works?
